Today we’re going to list out a few impactful ways to serve your community this holiday season. Giving back to your community is essential at anytime of the year, and especially so when the holidays are inching closer and closer. Adopt A Family
If you’re looking for a wonderful way to share the joy of the Christmas season, consider adopting a family to give gifts to. For some families and individuals, giving gifts is not a financial option, so treating a family in need to Christmas joy is priceless. You can find these options on the Christmas trees that are set up in various locations around town, like the grocery store. Pick a family and purchase gifts that they will love. There will be a designated location for you to drop off the gifts.
There might also be another family or individual that you know of personally that could use some love this holiday season. When you do your own Christmas shopping, find some presents to gift this family or person in need. There is no doubt that they will be touched by this gesture.
Volunteer At The Soup Kitchen
Volunteering at your local soup kitchen and preparing and serving food to people in need is an visibly impactful way of sharing the holiday spirit and doing good in your community. Perhaps you serve at a homeless shelter regularly, or perhaps this is something you are wanting to begin doing. Either way, volunteering your time to prepare and serve food for big Thanksgiving and/or Christmas dinners that are coming up at the shelter will bless those you who come through the shelter.
If you are strapped for time and cannot find a free afternoon to volunteer, you can still make an impact by donating food and meal preparation items to your local shelter.
Donate Your Car To Charity
Finding the time and extra money to serve those in your community can be tricky and is not an option for everyone. But don’t feel guilty or as if you cannot make an impact this holiday season. There is another way to give back, and that is through car donations. Do you have an unused car that is sitting around collecting dust? Consider donating it to charity. What you may consider to be junk can bring many tangible resources to those in need in your community.
